Around 8AM on a cold November Saturday morning I stood by a road in Baneshwor (Kathmandu) waiting for my friend to pick me up. Just when I was warming up with the morning rays my friend arrived and we headed to Budhanilkantha to visit the “Butterfly Home”. My purpose for the visit was to photograph the kids living there.
Pushpa Basnet, who won CNN Heroes Award in 2012, founded Butterfly Home. You can read more about the organization by visiting http://ecdcnepal.org
As I walked in all the kids were getting started with their daily routine - cleaning themselves up
As I was walking out of the building I saw a little girl on the phone , and after inquiring I found out she was talking to her mother who is behind bars. It was a moment full of mixed emotions. Butterfly Home

They wanted to take my photos too :)
That's me with few kids
Helping out the lil one
After spending half a day at the Butterfly Home it was time to say goodbye
It was wonderful meeting everyone at the Butterfly Home. The kids are so well taken care of and they are all so happy. I wish them all a life filled with good health, happiness and success. Thank you Pushpa for letting me in your home and introducing me to all your kids. I wish you all the best.
